Just small sums can bring about great benefits. For example, approx. 135 kg CO2 are emitted in the production of a PVC window. To compensate for these emissions, only approx. 2 EUR per window needs to be invested in CO2 –saving activities.
If the building project managers use the investment costs saved in comparison to an expensive wooden window for the thermal insulation of the house, a great deal of energy can be saved. Moreover, the CO2 emissions fall by several tones.
